Thankful Day 4

Today I am thankful for my health.  It has been a tough year and scary at times, but I am feeling GREAT and doing GREAT.  I always tell people I really can not complain about what I have went through this year, because so many people have it worse than I do or did..

I am thankful that I am in maintenance and I am thankful for my GREAT support team.  I truly have some wonderful people that support me and were there for not only myself, but Rob as well…

So tomorrow when you are sitting around the dinner table, be sure to count your blessings, I surely will.

Thankful Day 3

I am thankful for all of my family.  My immediately family and extended family.  I have an amazing husband that loves me unconditionally and supports me in everything I do.  He is my rock, my shoulder, my everything and we just celebrated 30 years : )

I am one of 11 kids and 9 are still living and it was great growing up in a big family.  I never felt like I missed out on anything because my family was so big and today it is awesome to have so many nieces and nephews and now even great ones…

Remember to always let those special to you know just how you feel…

Thankful… Day 2

Day two of my Thankful Days..  I am thankful for my parents.  My parents passed away a few years ago, my Mom in 2011 and my Dad just 7 months later.  I miss them so very much and the holidays are very difficult.  But I am thankful for the way my parents raised me.  They taught me right from wrong and that my decisions had consequences.  They taught me how to be a strong, compassionate and loving person.  Being number 9 of 11 kids, I always knew I was loved and that I mattered..  So, thank you Mom & Dad for always being there for me and for making me the person that I am today…

If you are lucky enough to have your parents in your life, PLEASE be sure to let them know how grateful you are for them and how much you love them.

Hugs and Kisses ~ Dawn Marie

Thankful.. Day 1

So I have decided to use the last few days before Thanksgiving to things that I am Thankful for over the next couple of days…

I am thankful for friends that matter.. People come and go in your life for a reason.  Some you grow apart from, others you choose to move on from.    A friend is there when you need each other.  A friend supports you and encourages you.  If you are constantly being reminded of the things someone has done for you, that is not a friend.

In the past year I have decided to keep only those people in my life that I feel are truly my friend.  I am very blessed to be surrounded by a group of great people.  These people were there for me during my procedures earlier this year.  They were there to support me when my brother passed away and they are just generally there for me, even when I don’t realize I need them.

I hope you are blessed as well to have friends that have turned into family…

YAH!!

If you read my blog and follow me, you know that I have had a rather difficult year.  Difficult in part being I was dealt some medical issues that I had to deal with.. So after 9 months of test, scans, labs and treatments, November was the first month that I didn’t have to have any of them.   Also, I have officially paid off all my medical bills.  Of course I have insurance, but we had a deductible I had to meet and with that and other bills I met my out of pocket maximum that I had to pay..  There are sooooo many things I would have rather have spent the $7000 on, but you deal with the cards you are dealt.  And looking at the big picture, there are a LOT of people that have things a LOT worse than I do, so I count my blessings.

Being diagnosed with lymphoma and the unexpected death of my brother, this year has taught me a lot.  First being to make sure that those that you love and cherish know how you feel and know just how special they are to you.

Also, I have learned just how important it is to cut the crap out of your life.  There is no place in my life for people that don’t bring something to the table.. I refuse to deal with drama and bs.. and let me tell you, I feel so much better not having to deal with it or think about it.  Quality of friends is clearly better than quantity…

Hope you all have a fantastic weekend and GO COWBOYS, Romo is back and hopefully that helps us, LOL.

Thanksgiving is coming!

Thanksgiving is a week away here in the States and I’m super excited for it this year.  The last few years we have done dinner at my g/f Wendy’s house.  But this year we are doing it at our house.  Angel and her hubby Devil are coming to visit us and will celebrate Thanksgiving with Devil doing a LOT of the cooking :)  We are having 13 people total for dinner, so it should be a lot of fun.  Our menu will include Smoked Turkey, Smoked Ham and Prime Rib and then all the other Tday trimmings..  And Angel is making a cake, I’ll be sure we take pictures of it, LOL

We will also be watching football, which I am not all that excited about right now.  My team is doing more than struggling, LOL, they are dying!!

If you are in the states, what are you Turkey Day plans???  Having dinner at your place, or going somewhere else???

Tea anyone?

Some of you that follow me know that I am not a coffee drinker.  I love the smell of coffee and I like coffee ice cream, I just have never acquired the taste for coffee.  Now that the weather has finally changed in AZ it is time for me to enjoy some tea.  I like a nice warm cup of tea on our “chilly” mornings, lol.

Last year I was given a gift of tea and I loved it.  Then I went to buy some and it is a seasonal tea and I ended up paying way more than I hoped for on amazon.  The tea is Trader Joe’s Vanilla Cinnamon Black Tea and I’m going to one of their stores in hopes to stock up on some this year, LOL.

I also like to sit around the fire pit with a nice cup of Hot Chocolate with either Marshmallow or whipped vodka in it!!!

But one thing that is not cool, I do NOT have a Cowboys Coffee Cup :(  This was my tea on Monday and this is hubbies cup.  My team SUCKS but I still have to support them and I added a couple cup options to my wish list, LOL

Who Dey Baby!!

Tiny House??

Oh my gosh, does anyone else watch this program??  I don’t know how these people live in these little places.  I’m telling you right now, I could not do it.  Well, unless you have at least two or three of them connected to each other, LOL.  Funniest thing is that the first words out of peoples mouths when they are shopping for tiny houses, “It’s so small”.  Well duh, 100 square feet is tiny, LOL.  So, could you do it???

Pumpkin Spice Oreo Truffles

Pumpkin Spice Oreo Truffle

Ok, I made these for Thanksgiving and I have tried one.  Let me just say, they are delicious!!  I’m sharing the recipe with you, although I’m not sure if you will be able to find the oreos now.  I’m going to be looking for more of them as I loved these..

  • 1 bag Pumpkin Spice Oreos
  • 6 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 16 oz white chocolate morsels, candy coating, or vanilla almond bark
  • Orange sprinkles for topping, optional (I used crushed graham crackers)

Instructions

  1. Crush the Oreos until finely ground using a food processor or rolling pin. Add softened cream cheese, broken up into chunks; process/mix until well blended.
  2. Chill the dough in the fridge for at least 45 minutes to firm it up and make it easier to roll into balls.
  3. Roll the chilled dough into 1or 1 and ½” balls and set them on wax paper a cookie sheet. Freeze the truffles for another 30 minutes.
  4. Melt white chocolate in the microwave or double broiler (only do 15-30 seconds at a time if using the microwave so as not to scorch it, stirring each time you take the bowl out).
  5. Dip balls in melted white chocolate using a spoon or two forks to coat thoroughly; place on wax paper-covered baking sheet. Sprinkle the sprinkles on top before chocolate hardens, optional.
  6. Refrigerate until firm, about 1 hour.
  7. Store leftover truffles, covered, in refrigerator.

Good Sunday Morning…

Good Morning!!  So, how was your weekend?  We went out on Friday with friends and new friends to see The Psychedelic Furs.  It was a great evening and we had a lot of fun.   Last night, Rob went out with friends and I stayed home.  They were going to see some live music that I was not interested it, so I didn’t go.  I stayed in and had a quiet evening at home.  I started making my Pumpkin Spice Oreo Truffles.  They are not done yet, but they sure taste yummy.  I will post a picture and the recipe in a later post.

I will be back on Cam this week, if you are interested in a little One on One fun with me, just email me dawnmarie@dawnmariesdream.com  : )

Thoughts and Prayers go out to Paris, just tragic!!

Time lost on Pinterest, LOL

Next month is Thanksgiving and this year dinner is at my house.   There will be a total of 10 of us, two of which are Angel and her hubby Devil.  Actually I am handing over most of the cooking to him as I know he loves to cook.    So I logged into Pinterest this morning to look for some yummy side dishes and here I am well over an hour later, LOL.  So, are there any traditional dishes that you serve on Thanksgiving?  Share with me….

This week is a busy week for me.  Monday night is Free Members Cam, Tuesday I am getting my hair done, Wednesday shooting a scene for BBG, Thursday blood work, Friday I fly to KY.

My younger brother Nic who passed away suddenly in August unfortunately did not have life insurance.  My family is having a benefit in his honor to raise funds to cover the cost of his burial.  I made two UK Wreaths that will be auctioned off at the benefit.  I go to KY on Friday and return on Monday.  Tuesday I have my maintenance treatment and Thursday we head to Chicago for a week to celebrate my son’s 30th bday.  So, busy, busy, busy….

Have a safe weekend..

Dawn Marie

Things are great!

I first want to thank everyone for the wonderfully supportive comments, tweets and emails that I have received after my post in August about my illness.  I am doing GREAT and feeling GREAT!!  Also I want to thank everyone who has stopped by and said hello or did a private cam with me.  It has really been fun to be back on cam :)  I’m going to be doing about 10 hours a week.

So, what are your plans for the fall?  Any trips or fun things going on?  The rest of the year is super busy for us.  A couple of trips and peeps visiting and just things going on…

What about football?  Everyone knows I’m a Cowboys fan and they have killed me the last two weeks.  We seem to go in at half time with a lead and then a different team comes out and are not able to score a damn point, what the hell is up with that???  How is your team doing??

Where do I begin?

Where do I begin?  Well first let me say thank you to all of my members for sticking with me over the last few months.  A couple of you have commented or emailed me about my updates and when I would be posting new ones.  So this is my first new update in months and I apologize for the lack of new content, but let me explain the reason.

In March I went to my regular Doctor for my yearly physical.  I had a couple of things I wanted her to check, long story short, she didn’t know what was going on, but sent me to have several ultra sounds.  The ultra sounds came back with some suspicious things and sent me for CT scans in a few areas.  So, after the results of all the test, my doc referred me to an Oncologist as she said it looks like I have Lymphoma.  My Oncologist had me see a surgeon for a biopsy of one of my lymph nodes to see exactly what we were dealing with..  The test came back that I have Follicular Lymphoma.  Which is actually the best bad news I could receive.  It is very slow growing and some people can live their entire life and never need treatment.  Unfortunately I am not one of those people as I was experience side affects..

On April 30th I started with my first chemo treatment.  I would have to have two days back to back chemo days every month for 6 months and then we will see how things looked.  I was told there would be very little side affects, maybe some fatigue.  Well I am not normal as we all know, LOL.  Day two after my first treatments I was so nauseated and couldn’t eat anything for three days.  Between the days before prepping my kidneys for the chemo and getting fluids back in me from being nauseated I went into my Drs office for 10 days for IV’s.  Second and third rounds, more of the same, not as bad but still not feeling well.  The fourth treatment in July, the week after my 50th bday, Chemo kicked my ass.  Three days after treatment I ended up in the ER with a fever and I was given an iv and anti-biotic.  (Upon diagnoses I was put on an antibiotic that kept me out of the sun all summer long)  I had the low grade fever for four days.  My Oncologist at my July treatment said she wanted me to have a CT scan to see where we stood and how things looked.  When i went in for my August treatment she said things progressed so well that she was going to put me on maintenance and stop my chemo two months early.

So there is no cure for what I have, but it is something I can totally live with and I will be on this maintenance for two years and see how things go.  I am feeling really well and aside from having to get my hair cut a little shorter (told ya July kicked my ass) because my hair thinned out a bit, LOL.  And the little scar on my neck, I feel really well.  Now it is time to hit the gym and get in better shape.

Why am I telling you this now??  I thought you deserved to know what was going on with me.  There was a handful of people online that knew what I was going through.  I didn’t want to live this online through social media as I didn’t want to be reading comments about people praying for me and things I should and shouldn’t do.  I know people think they are trying to make you feel better by comments and helpful hints, but sometimes it just isn’t helpful.  Plus I wear my heart on my sleeve and I didn’t think I could deal with reading thoughtful comments without always breaking into tears.  But I’m stronger now and fought through and I’m able to talk about it without tearing up, LOL…

So, I am back onboard now with my site and you will be seeing much, much more new content.  Thank you again for sticking with me even when you had no idea what was going on… but rest assured, I am NOT sick, I’m NOT leaving and I’m NOT retiring my site.  You are stuck with me…

Thanks again for listening or should I say reading…

Hugs and Kisses,

Dawn Marie

Where have I been?

As most of you know that follow me or have followed me for a long time, mine and Rob’s 30th Wedding Anniversary was on the 16th and we were looking forward to celebrating.  I received a phone call on the 12th from my sister in Kentucky that my baby brother Nic had passed away.  Nic was just 36 years old and his death was completely unexpected and a shock for us all.  So I went to Ky on the 13 until the 18th to be with family.

Some of you may remember me sharing a story with you about my brother 15 years ago.  He was in a serious car wreck when he was just 21 and he broke his back.  Nic had to have a rod and plate put in his back.  He said the feeling he had in his legs were like novocaine wearing off, that tingling feeling.  He had this feeling in his right leg and was able to move his leg eventually and in the left he had the feeling to the knee.  Below the knee he had no feeling and had what they called a drop foot.  He was able to walk with a cane and he would throw the bad foot.  Nic got a sore on the good foot that they were never able to heal and after some time he ended up losing the good leg above the knee.  When this happened he pretty much lived in wheel chair from that point on which was about three years or so.  Nic also had other issues since his accident.  He became addicted to prescription drugs and other things and my Mom pretty much locked him in the house away from outside contact and influences and pretty much saved his life.  Nic found, or should I say became reconnected with a girl from his past almost 5 years ago.  They built a life together and she is like one of my sisters.  They loved each other and were discussing marriage and the possibilities of children some day.  Being in the chair, Nic had put on weight and in fact was overweight and got very little exercise being in the chair all day every day and they believe it was an embolism that killed him.

Nic had such a happy spirit and loved life.  He was always smiling showing off his huge dimples..  He was loved by so many people and will be greatly missed.  It was hard to go to Ky and say goodbye to him, but nice to be there with all my family.

I was able to save a voicemail and a few text messages from Nic.  I will miss hearing him call me Dawn-Dawn which he has always done.. Remember to let those in your life that are important to you know just how you feel….

It was my Birthday!

So, I turned 50 one week ago and I had a GREAT Birthday!!  It started off with my younger sister and her hubby coming in from KY on Wednesday to celebrate with me.  Thursday we all drove up to the Grand Canyon and we spent the night up there.  Friday we drove home. Friday night the four of us and my girlfriend and her hubby went to Top Golf.  If you have a Top Golf near you and haven’t went yet, it is a MUST, so much fun!!!   And then Saturday I had a party with the best group of friends a girl could ever ask for, I am so blessed.   We finally have a group of friends where there are no games and no drama and every get together is nothing but fun and lot of love and mutual respect for each other.

Next week I will be shooting some new pics and I am going to try to line up a video shoot for the near future.   I know I have not posted a lot of new pics lately, but believe me I have had a lot going on personally with myself, but all of that is on the mends!!!   So, if there is anything special you would like to see, please don’t be shy, let me know.  I do have a LOT of new Birthday gifts to take pictures in and with, hehe.. Thank you all for your generosity with the items from my wish list.

Hope you enjoy the pics…

Mini S’mores Recipe

Ingredients

  • 7 whole graham crackers (1 cup finely crushed) 1=4 rectangles
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 6 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 4 bars (1.55 oz each) milk chocolate candy, divided
  • 12 large marshmallows

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Place graham crackers into a large resealable plastic bag. Finely crush into crumbs. Combine graham cracker crumbs, powdered sugar, and butter in a small bowl.

Place 1 tablespoon of crumb mixture in each cup of a mini muffin pan. Firmly press crumbs to form shallow cups. Bake 4-5 minutes or until edges are bubbling. I use the TBS Measure and press the crust down into the pan, both before and after baking.

Meanwhile, break two of the candy bars into rectangles. Remove pan from oven; place one rectangle into each cup.

Cut marshmallows in half crosswise using shears dipped in cold water. Place one marshmallow half, cut-side down, into each cup. Return to oven 1-2 minutes or until marshmallows are slightly softened.

Remove pans from oven to cooling rack; cool 15 minutes. Carefully remove cups from pan. Cool completely.

Break remaining candy bars and place in small microwavable bowl. Microwave on high 1 to 1 1/2 minutes or until melted and smooth, stirring every 20 seconds.

Dip the top of each marshmallow in melted chocolate. Turn top-side up and let stand 40 to 60 minutes or until set.

I’ve been a bad, bad girl.

I have been a really bad, bad girl and I’m sorry.  I have had so much going on that I have completely neglected my blog.  I will do my very best to update it more often, but remember you can always feel free to call me out when I don’t.

I have posted a gallery of pics below of things that have been going on to catch you up a bit.  Long story short..  Our son finally moved out, we sent to Austin to visit Lonestar Angel and had a blast.  We are planning a trip back in Sept, I am going for a girls weekend with her and a couple of new friends I met while visiting her and Rob is going to hang with Devil.  I hope to be going to Cali the weekend after the fourth to visit with my niece, but that is still up in the air right now.  October we are going to Chicago to visit with my son who will be turning 30.  Oh and I am turning 50 in 18 days, woohoo!!!!  My younger sister is coming for her very first visit to AZ and I am super excited.  I am having a party for my birthday and all our friends will be here to celebrate!!  I’m going to be taking my sister up to the Grand Canyon while she is here on her short visit.  Oh and I have a room for Rob and I in August as we are celebrating our 30th Wedding Anniversary.   Ok, now y’all are all caught up, hehe…

I have not been doing Cam for a bit, but I am going to be setting it up again and doing naughty shows with anyone that is interested : )

So until I update again, enjoy the summer and if you are in AZ try to stay cool as it is CRAZY HOT here right now.

Hugs & Kisses ~ Dawn Marie

What’s going on?

Happy Thursday Y’all!!  Can you believe April is half over already?  Crazy how times flies right?  How has your spring been?  Mine has been good, seems like March is always so busy for us.  We do Spring Training Games and then we always have out of town visitors.

We went to The Phoenix Forum a few weeks ago and had some laughs and cocktails with our very good friends Buzz & Rachel.  It is actually the forum were we met four years ago.  I’m so glad that we met them, they have become very important people in our lives and very, very dear friends.  I’ve said it before, my time online has led us to some amazing friendships.  Friendships we will have long after our time online has ended.  Love these two like they are family :)

Our new site www.blowbanggirls.com is live and doing well.  Have you checked it out yet?  We are shooting a new scene tomorrow and one next week.

So, any big plans for the summer?  We have a couple things we are hoping to do.  We want to go to Chicago at the end of June to visit our son and to see Jimmy Buffett with him.  We are planning a trip to Vegas for a celebration of my Birthday, the BIG 50 and our 30th Anniversary which is in August.  I hope to also take a trip to KY since I had to cancel my last visit.

Below are some resent pics that I have taken, hope you enjoy them.

More Springtime Fun with DM

Are you enjoying your spring?  I’m enjoying mine..  I have been to 5 Cubs Spring Training games and I am going to my last one on Friday.  The weather has been really warm, so I have been working on my tan while at the games.

We had a GREAT visit with family last week, I love it when you get to spend time with all those you love.  We actually went out to Top Golf, first time I have ever golf, except for putt putt, LOL.  I told them I should have been given a handicap as I had breast to deal with in my swing and no one else did, LOL.  And in two weeks I will be in KY visiting my family : )

Speaking of KY who is in my Basketball pool, or any March Madness Pool for that matter?  My bracket took a big hit, but I have UK winning it all, so I’m still in it!!

It’s March and you know what that means….MADNESS!

You know how I love March Madness and this year I have even more reason to LOVE it.  My team, UK Wildcats went undefeated in their regular season.. 31-0, so here is to hopefully bringing home another Championship home to Kentucky.

March also means, Spring Training.  I went to the Cubs game last Friday with hubby and our friends from Canada.  We did a bit of pre-gaming it and then afterwards, LOL.  I am going to a Cubs game on Friday with friends, Sunday with family and St Patty’s Day with all of my immediately family.

Last week we finally got a studio for our new site, www.blowbanggirls.com and today we did our first shoot their.  The site is almost ready to go live, just waiting on the Visa approval.  I think it is a site you guys are going to love.    Be sure you are following them on twitter @blowbanggirls

Lastly, I want to say thank you to my husband, Rob.  We have been doing this since ’98 and I am blessed to have a husband that is secure in his manhood.  Over the years we have witness all types of things and one is when the husband is the driving force.  The husband makes all the decisions, makes all the choices, speaks for and sometimes even pretends, via email to be the girl on the web.  Rob has NOT one single time answered one of my emails or tweets.  He has never attempted to speak for me or give his input where it was not needed.  He has never made the decisions or choices for me.   In fact when Rob gets an email from some wanting to do pics or whatever with me, he always says, you need to talk to Dawn, she makes those decisions herself.   Thank you Rob for allowing me to be my own person!  I love you babe!!!

I’m attaching some pics…

A New Year!

Happy Belated New Year!  So, did you make any New Years Resolutions??  Have you kept to them if you did or have you already given up?  I made one, to read one book per week, I have fallen a bit behind, but still committed to my resolution, LOL.  Have any suggestions for me?

Since the east coast is getting hit with snow, I thought I would share with you a picture of our sunrise..  No shoveling sunshine in AZ.

Today we are headed downtown to the NFL Experience.  It seems that it is kid oriented, but I have free tickets, so we will check it out.  I’ll let you know.

And Saturday we are going to hike one of the many trails here in AZ.  Our first one is less than three miles and I will take some pics to share with you.  And then before you know it, Spring Training will be here!!  Looking forward to going to a couple of games with local friends and out of town friends.

Hope you are staying warm..

Happy Holidays!

Burrrr it has turned COLD in AZ…  Temps as low as 30 is cold for us.  Poor hubby has an outside venue to play at on Friday night, don’t know how you stay warm for that, think he needs to get some long johns..

So, how were your holidays?  Mine were fantastic..  Our 3rd Annual Ugly Sweater Party was a HUGE success and the new addition of “As Seen on TV” was fun as well.  I used my new selfie stick and took so many pics.   I must have been a very good girl this year as I got some amazing gifts..  an iPad Mini 3, that I love, some new Tom’s I had wanted and some shoes to go hiking or ATV’ing with friends in and some other amazing gifts..  Even some Cowboy stuff.  I got a new scarf and Rob said, I thought you had a Cowboys scarf, I said I do, but not this one, LOL.  Cowboys Pool towel, Shot Glass and Wine glass.. oh my family and friends know me well : )   Thank you also to my online friends/members who sent me items from my wish list..  Stephen I love the outfit you sent and John your generosity was greatly appreciated too and you will see them on my site soon I’m sure.

Plans for NYE??  We are spending a quiet evening with friends.  Then Friday is hubby’s gig and Saturday is Playoff day for my COWBOYS..

Hope you all had wonderful holidays and a Spectacular New Year!!

Happy December Everyone!!

Can you believe Christmas is just 9 days away??  Are you ready?  I am NOT, lol..  This weekend we are having our yearly cookie exchange and I’m making my Salted Carmel Turtle Cookies and my niece Mollie’s Christmas Crack Cookies and for family, I’m making Reece’s Peanut Butter Truffles… I’ll post a pic of that when I make them.  Also this weekend is our 3rd Annual Ugly Sweater Party and this year we have added a fun element to the party..  As Seen on TV.  To participate you just have to bring a wrapped As Seen on Tv item, I’ll post a pic of my gift next week.

So, HOW ‘BOUT THEM COWBOYS!!!  We had a huge win this past week against the Eagles.  I have attached a pic of my BEAUTIFUL new scarf I got from my g/f, I LOVE it!!

This past weekend we spent an evening with our dear friends Buzz & Rachel and I have a pic of that too.

So, what do you have going on over the next few days????

Where has time gone?

So it is November already, are you ready for the holidays?  If you are in the states, do you do a big Thanksgiving Dinner?  Well this year we are having a small one, just Rob and my younger son.   My daughter in law works in retail, so they are never able to travel during the Thanksgiving/Christmas holidays..  So this year it is just the three of us and we will still do a big dinner.  I like to put my tree up on Black Friday and this year I’m getting a bigger tree and we are going to put it in a different location in out living room, right by the front door so you can see the lights through the window by the door.

Christmas this year will be the three of us and then later in the day we will be having friends over for dinner and games.  Are you an early shopper for Christmas??  I try to be, but it never seems to work out that way, LOL.  We are having our Third Annual Ugly Sweater Party this year, with a twist.. adding a “As Seen on Tv” part to it..  Guest can bring a wrapped as seen on tv item that we will exchange later in the evening.  Oh and we will be doing our Cookie Exchange on the same day.  Do you have a good cookie recipe you would to share with me??

And I’m SUPER excited about my New Years plans, I’m headed to KY to spend a week with my family.

This past weekend we went up north and went atv’ing with our friends Buzz & Rachel, we had such a great day and I’m attaching some of the pics.

Hugs and Kisses,

Dawn Marie

I can not believe it is already October, crazy how time is just flying by.  I am super excited for the cooler weather and being able to turn the a/c off at least for a little bit in the morning and at night.  Also, finally being able to use our fire pit, woohoo!!  But we are still very much in the shorts & flip flop weather..

Fall is one of my favorite seasons, not as spectacular here as back home in the Cincy/NKY area, but still nice.   And it also starts a very busy time with birthdays and holidays.  My son is going to be 29 later this month and that is just CRAZY!!!  Our little kitty levi, the black one that was hit by a car and had his jaw broken is turning 6 next week, which translate to 56 years old.  He is just the sweetest little thing.

So, one of the things being online has allowed me to do, is to make some wonderful friends.   I have a friend from Chicago that is here several months out of the year, and he is here now.  We have become such great friends, that he knows all of my family and I know his.  In fact, he and his wife were guest at my sons wedding this summer.  Also friends from Canada are coming in on Wednesday and we are all meeting up on Thursday for drinks.   And then the Canada friends are walking with us on Saturday.

Saturday we are doing another Color walk with our friends Wendy and Scott and this time we will also be joined by our friends from Canada Greg and Joy.  It should be a lot of fun and I’m really looking forward to it.  Then later we are going to an Oktoberfest with W & S and I’m sure we will take a few pics : )

Ok, lastly I can NOT end this post without mentioning my COWBOYS!!!  DAMN, what a game yesterday.  I am just bummed that I didn’t get to watch it because the Cardinals were on :(  But loving the win regardless.

Attached are a few pics I want to share with ya…

Found this keychain that I thought I had lost. My friend Aaron gave this to me MANY years ago. I met him through my site and he has become one of my best friends and he also was at my sons wedding. Thought I lost it, but nope and I found it in time for the Dallas/NO game!! And yes, he is a Saints fan. (Sorry Aaron)

Cinnamon Roll Waffles!! And yes they are as yummy as they look. Just take regular cinnamon rolls and spray your waffle iron with cooking spray and then put your rolls on the waffle iron and cook for about 3 minutes. My iron only cooks two waffles at once, so I only do to rolls at once. I popped the icing in the mic for 10 seconds and then drizzled on top.
