Howdy peeps, hope everyone is doing well and that you are looking forward to the weekend ahead and of course FOOTBALL is here, YAH!!!

Last weekend was a holiday weekend in the States, Labor Day.  We had two different pool parties that we were invited to, and of course I made treats to take along.  Saturdays party I took just a Mexican Cheese Rice Casserole and then some YUMMY cookies… Salted Carmel Cookies.  Sunday I took, jell-o shots, Cherries soaked in Chocolate Vodka and dipped in White Chocolate and Mini S’mores Cups which are simple easy to make and are always a hit!!

Tonight we are going to my g/fs house for some night time pool and pizza.  She is getting ready to go overseas for two weeks, so it is our last chance to hang out before she goes.

Hello Monday!!  Why is it that Saturday and Sunday are the fastest days of the week?  We had a great weekend though!  Friday Rob’s band Six String Panic opened for another band, so they were able to get a little play time in.

Saturday was a pretty chilled day, we kicked back most of the day.  We did go out to check out or friends new home they are renting and stopped for a cocktail on the way home and then got some food to go and went home and watched a movie.  The movie we watched was Locke and it was pretty good, worth watching and the kicker is, there is physically only one actor in the movie.

Sunday we relaxed during the day and then headed to my girlfriends to watch the Cards/Bengals game.  My girlfriend Wendy is a HUGE Cardinal’s Fan and my hubby is a HUGE Bengal’s fan.. and of course the Bengal’s won, lol..  I made a new recipe and it was pretty good…

Jalapeno Bites

One 8-ounce package cream cheese, softened

8 ounces Parmesan, grated (about 2 cups)

4 tablespoons seeded and chopped jalapeno peppers

1 large egg, beaten

3 cups dry plain breadcrumbs

Directions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Mix the cream cheese, Parmesan, jalapenos and egg to form a paste. Shape into balls using about 1/2 tablespoon of paste for each. Roll the balls in the breadcrumbs. Place on an un-greased baking sheet and bake for 10 to 15 minutes, until golden brown. Serve warm.

I made a new dip that I liked too, Cilantro Jalapeno Dip if you would like I can post it..  Oh, perhaps I can get Rob to add a Recipe section to the blog and I can post them that way…

Well I am home from a wonderful trip,  did you miss me?  Well we started out on our trip on Monday, July 21.  We were driving from Phx to Chicago.  Our plan was to drive to arrive on Wednesday, July 23rd.  We stayed Wed & Thur at an apartment in Old Town/Cobbler Square Lofts..  We had a really cute apartment were about a mile from my sons place.  On Wednesday we met up with him and his lovely fiancee for dinner at Twin Anchors and had some wonderful BBQ.  We went back to their place for a bit for cocktails and called it a night around midnight.

Thursday Rob and I hung out around our apartment and met up with the kids and some of his friends and ours that were in town for the wedding at Tin Lizzie’s.  Again, a night of cocktails, LOL…  are you seeing a theme??  Our younger son flew in Thursday and joined us for drinks.

Friday we headed out to Deerfield to the location of the wedding and checked into our hotel for the next two nights.  Friday evening was Rehearsal and then back into Lincoln Park for rehearsal dinner.  It was a wonderful evening and there were about 30 of us for dinner and drinks.  We had rented a party bus to get us to and from the dinner.  We got back to the hotel about 11 o’clock and guess what??  Everyone ended up in our room for cocktails…  At 2 am I told everyone I didn’t care where they went, but they had to leave our room, LOL.

Saturday was the wedding and although there was no rain, it was VERY humid and it was an outside wedding.  The ceremony was BEAUTIFUL and of course I got teary eyed, as I knew I would.  The food was some of the best I have ever had and of course there was an open bar and we had more cocktails..  The dancing started with their first dance, then father/daughter dance and then mother/son.  We danced to Billy Joel’s “She’s got a way” and I started crying as soon as I stood up to dance with him.   We stayed at the reception until the very end, 1 am.  Danced the night away with friends and family.  Went back to the hotel and I was up until 3 am..

Sunday morning we all did breakfast at the hotel before heading off in our own directions.  Rob and I, with friends of ours from Phx went back to Lincoln Park where we rented another apt for the next two nights.  The couple are very good friends of ours and we planned to do some sight seeing on Monday with them.  Our younger son flew home Sunday evening and my newly married son and daughter in-law came over to our apt for pizza and beer along with a couple other friends..   The kids were leaving early Monday morning for their Honeymoon.  So here we were, another night of drinking, LOL…

Monday we went to Shedds Aquar and ended up back at our apt with the four of us having cocktails on the private rooftop of out apt..  Tuesday we started out journey home and our friends flew home…  We were going to try to sight see through the CO Rockies, but it POURED and we were not able to stop.  So instead we stopped at the Arches National Park and spent 4 hours there.  We got back home on Friday..

So, I have a VERY busy week this week.  Meeting a new friend from Twitter tonight with hubby for drinks.  Wednesday I will be helping hubby do some work and Thursday is my BIRTHDAY!!  Friday night is Members Cam and Saturday is pool day & dinner with my g/f Wendy and our hubbies.  Going to be making marinated flank steak, which is YUMMY!!!  Sunday is our last day to get things in order for our trip to Chicago..  I am SOOOOO EXCITED for this trip and my son getting married.

Last week I was sitting on my sofa with my laptop in my lap.  I put the laptop on the ottoman and my kitty Tucker was laying on the floor right beside me.  When I went to get up, I tripped over the cord and I either startled Tucker or stepped on him, which ever it was, he was NOT happy and decided to CLAMP down on the back of my leg.  So, after two days and it was all red and swollen I went to the Dr and she put me on an antibiotic and also game me a tetanus shot.  She said I didn’t need one for a cat bite, but since I couldn’t remember the last time I had one.. So for the past week  have been icing my leg and putting heat on my arm.  Today almost a week after, my arm is feeling better from the shot and my leg is looking MUCH better..

Last night we had our first Monsoon Storm of the season and our area actually got some rain, woohoo..  There are trees down all over the place, but we did not get any type of damage.

Well you know I went to Chicago about two weeks ago for the Bridal Shower of my future Daughter in-law.  It was such a great visit, but boy it was warm and the humidity was crazy!!!  My hair is naturally straight, so the humidity just makes if fall out and it does not look pretty, LOL.  I have attached some pics from that trip below.

Now we are just a couple weeks away from my birthday, woohoo!!  Love my birthday!!  And a little of three weeks is the wedding in Chicago!!!  We are going to gone and on the road for almost two weeks, really looking forward to it!!

So sorry I have been so neglectful in my postings on my blog.  Who wants to give me a spanking??  So summer is crazy busy for me and I’m loving it..  I have been spending a bit of time over the weekends with my g/f poolside working on my Vitamin D intake, LOL.    So this weekend I am going to Chicago, I’ll be there Friday – Tuesday.  My son is getting married there next month and this weekend is the Bridal shower and I am so excited that I get to be a part of this with them.  Friday evening after I arrive I will be having dinner with the couple and her Mom, who I have yet to meet.  Saturday is the shower and then Monday night we are going to a Cubs game, they play our home team the Reds, baseball at Wrigley is always fun.

Next month for the wedding we have decided to drive.  We will drive straight there and plan to arrive on Wednesday before the wedding.  We will stay in Chicago until the following Tuesday.  On the way home we plan to take our time and do some sight seeing along the way.  I found my dress, which I love, but the size is not right :(  needs to be a bit larger in the bust, LOL.  I know you are shocked, hehe, how can that possibly be, but it is.  So on to the next size and hopefully it fits in the bust and the rest without alterations..  I’ll post pics when I have the final fitting..

Because of my trip this weekend, I have rescheduled my cam.. so instead of Monday next week it will be Thursday, June 26 6 PM AZ time.  Hope you all will join me next week.

So this post is going to be more personal than typical, but I thought I would share with you what is going on with me.  As some of you know if you read my blog I have a problem with low Vitamin D levels.  At my yearly visit my dr put me on 50,000 iu a week and then had it rechecked after 12 weeks.  After the 12 weeks, the levels were better but still low, so dr put me on 5,000 iu daily and told me to take calcium with it and we would recheck it in 12 weeks and my A1C levels (sugar) runs slightly high 5.5, 5.7 being considered pre-diabetic.  So at the 12 week retest, Vit D still low so we are upping my intake to 10,000 iu daily.  My A1C levels were at 5.6, so time to change my diet and exercise to see if I can lower my levels and to see if that is why my levels are high and hopefully just not genetic.  I had gestational diabetes with my first son and I have a family history.  My Dad was a diabetic and a sister.   So my first step was to give up Coca Cola, I’m a HUGE soda drinker, or was..  May 7th was my last soda and I have the ultimate reason to quit, my health.  So exercise and diet is next…  I’ll keep ya posted on my progress : )

Now, you all know that my Mom passed away almost 3 years ago and Mother’s Day is so very hard for me.  I think it is because everyone is talking about their Mom’s and I don’t have mine.  On top of that, my son is getting married in July and it absolutely breaks my heart that my Mom will not be there to share that with us.  My son says he feels his grandma knew that he and his g/f would end up together, and that makes him happy.  But it still hurts… It is nice though that some of my family will be sharing in the celebration with me.  So I am going to share a special pic with you, it is a pic of me and my Mom on my wedding day, August 1985.  I had just turned 20 years old the month before… oh and look how short my hair is and it is the natural color, dirty blonde…

Hello!  Hope everyone is doing well and getting ready for Mother’s Day.  Men if you have children, you should still buy the Mother of your children a gift.  I hate the comment, well she is not my mother…she gave birth to your children.  My hubby & boys are always very good to me.

Funny story to share with you, last Friday we were invited to a party at 8 PM.  We we went to our favorite place, Harvey’s which is right down the road from us.  We had our son drop us off and we were going to Uber it to our friends.  While there enjoying cocktails my g/f text and asked if we mind that she join us.   So she came with her hubby and son and they had dinner and we had cocktails.  They offered to drive us to the party, so we didn’t have to Uber it.  We had them drop us off at the Safeway (grocery store) near our friends house, about a quarter mile away.  We bought our beverages, beer, vodka, cranberry juice and Rum Chata and some snacks.  Once we left the store, Rob decided he was just going to push the cart to her house, LOL.  It was the funniest thing ever.. I have video of us on our way, it is dark but you can hear us laughing…Rob pushed the cart all the way to her house and here is a pic of us in her entry with the cart, LOL  Did I mention we were drinking???

I hope the rest of the week is splendid for all of you and remember to tell your Mom how much you love her, you never know when the opportunity will be taken away from you…

If you follow my blog, then you know our little Levi had to have oral surgery this week.  He only had four teeth left from his last accident about a year and a half ago when he broke his jaw.  One of the four became abscessed and they ended up pulling two of his teeth.  After fight a temp of 105.8, having oral surgery, Levi is back to his old self.

Now for the really sad part of our week, our youngest Kitty Tucker has been missing for 24 hours now.  He is a real firecracker and MOST of the time is a sweet little kitty.  He likes to fight with the other cats sometimes and can be a real peckerhead, but sweet and loving most of the time.  He literally slept between mine and Rob’s pillows at night at the head of the bed.  Rob let them out on Saturday morning around five.  I got up around 8 and when Rob got up I told him I had not seen Tucker all morning and he is still missing.. :(  We have walked and driven our neighborhood looking for him.  Went around and spoke to neighbors and listed him on sites that put the word out about missing pets.   We are hoping he is one of those cats that finds his way home after being gone..

I have told y’all before if you see I haven’t posted in my blog in a while, call me out..  But for now I’m updating with just a little something… As you know I’m a Kentucky girl, born and raised and my family is still there.  And you know I’m a HUGE March Madness fan and my team is in the finals.. So for Valentine’s Day I received my first Alex and Ani’s bracelet from my wonderful hubby, the LOVE bracelet.  Well I have fallen in love with them and today I went and bought my second one, The Four Leaf Clover.  They are Made in America which is AWESOME and they come with these little cards that have a little story or meaning to the bracelet.  If you are looking for a gift for someone special, I recommend one of these beautiful bracelets.

• prep time 35 min
• total time 1 hr 5 min
• ingredients 7
• servings 24

Ingredients

1 roll (16.5 oz) Pillsbury® refrigerated chocolate chip cookies

1/3 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup finely chopped pecans

24 caramels, unwrapped (from 14-oz bag)

2 tablespoons half-and-half

1/3 cup semisweet chocolate chips, melted

1 teaspoon coarse sea salt

Heat oven to 350°F. In large bowl, break up cookie dough. Stir or knead in flour until well blended. Shape tablespoonfuls of dough into balls; roll in pecans, pressing into dough. Place 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheets.

Bake 12 to 16 minutes or until edges are light golden brown. Using handle of wooden spoon, make indentation in center of each cookie. Cool 1 minute; remove from cookie sheet to cooling racks. Cool completely, about 20 minutes.

Meanwhile, in microwavable bowl, microwave caramels and half-and-half uncovered on High 1 to 2 minutes, stirring once, until caramels are melted. Spoon about 1 teaspoon caramel into indentation of each cookie. Cool 15 minutes.

Drizzle with melted chocolate; sprinkle with salt. Let stand about 15 minutes or until chocolate is set.

Oh me oh my… I have truly neglected my blog..  So what have I been up to??  Spending time with friends and family..  Yesterday we went to the Ren Fest here in Phoenix.  It was a beautiful day, with some day drinking with friends.

This Saturday we are having a party here at my house with our friends, which is always a fun time.  Jenga and drinks.. and if the weather is cool enough, a fire pit.  The following weekend we are going to support our friends band, Plowd and watch them play.  The following weekend is 6 String Panic, the band my hubby started with friends of ours.  And of course, Spring Training is starting and that is always good for day drinking, hehe.  So the next few weeks are going to be very busy and filled with lots of fun.

“Fool me once,shame on you.  Fool me twice, shame on me.”  Well I have this friend that I met through twitter many, many years ago, about 6 or so.  He came out to a meet and greet to meet me and is a regular at those functions.  We became friends to the point that I have even had him at my home for regular parties with my friends.   At a party at my old house a few years ago, while showing him the view from my bedroom balcony we made out a bit.  Truly we were going to look at the view.

So we talked after that about the possibility of getting together to do more.  Well, Rob goes to LA every January and I invited him over once and he was all game.  The day he was to come over I never heard from him.  I honestly do not remember what his excuse was about leaving me hanging.  That is when he told me that I intimidate him when it comes to doing more, because of what I do and he has seen my videos, LOL.  So, I told him we would get together and simply make out and move from there and take things slowly and do what he is comfortable with…  So he was at a party at my house in December and I got a very nice kiss goodbye from him.  After that, we talked again about getting together and he was all game.  I told him Rob was going out of town this weekend and we made plans to see each other on Friday.  I messaged him a few times during the day and teased him about coming up with some excuse on why he wasn’t coming and he said nope, I’m there.   I got a message from him saying he was home and going to relax a bit and then hit the gym and asked if he could come over later.  I told him to keep in touch with me and we will figure things out…  That was the last I heard from him…

Now some of you may not know this about me, but once you get on my pissed off list it is VERY hard to get off that list..  Rob says I never forget anything and once someone pisses me off then forget it..  Well for this “friend” I am done!!!

I mean who acts like this???  If you don’t want to meet, simply say so, we are all adults and games are for children.

Today I have a fun day planned with another friend of ours, Patrick who lives in Chicago.  Patrick I met through my site, like 9 years ago or so.  He came out to a meet and greet to meet me and has become a dear friend to my entire family.  He comes to Phx several months out of the year and we also get together and have fun.  He has met my family and I have met his, even though they don’t know what I do, LOL.  Patrick and his wife are even invited to my son’s wedding this summer in Chicago.  Today we are going to the Cubs new Spring Training facility for a tour and then later this evening we are getting together in Scottsdale for drinks.  I’m really looking forward to it as he is such a sweetheart and makes me laugh all the time.

So I have a weekend without Rob this weekend, he is doing his annual NAMM trip.  I have a fun day planned on Saturday with our friend Patrick.  We are going to meet and do a tour of the Cubs new Spring Training facility.  Later in the evening I am heading to Scottsdale to have drinks with him.  Really looking forward to the day.  I will be doing CAM the next three days while he is away.. if you are interested in doing a show, email me.
